High School Learning Pathways at Uplands

Making informed choices for Year 10 to Year 13

Choosing the right High School programme and subjects can be a challenging and overwhelming experience for students and parents. With many options available, it can be difficult to determine which will provide the best opportunities for future success. At The International School of Penang, (Uplands), we offer a unique and personalised approach to High School education through our multi-certification pathways that endeavour to provide an appropriate level of academic challenge for each learner. Our school offers a range of certification pathways, including the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) (Year 10 and 11) followed by the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) (Year 12 and 13) and/or in combination with the Uplands High School Diploma (Year 10-13). This means that our students have the flexibility to choose the program that best suits their individual needs and aspirations. Wherever your child is planning to pursue higher education, continue with a foundation programme or enter the workforce, we have a program that will help them achieve their goals.

As a wonderfully diverse and inclusive school, we are exceptionally proud of the range of courses and pathways available to our students as they move through their four-year High School journey. We aspire to personalise the pathway for each student to find balance between academic success and personal passion. And we know that with multiple pathways and subjects comes complexity, making the selection process more challenging for students and parents. We understand that selecting the right pathway and subjects can have an impact on a student’s future so collaboration and communication between all parties involved is crucial. Our experienced teachers, Heads of Year, University Counselor and Secondary Leadership Team work closely with all students to ensure they are choosing the right program and subjects that will support their individual goals and aspirations.

Come along on Wednesday 8th March at 6pm to Uplands School to find out more about our High School programme. There will be the opportunity to hear from school leaders, teachers and students about our High School experience to support all students to make an informed decision about the next steps of their learning journey.
