Learning Hub

Welcome to our Learning Hub

The library has undergone a marvellous transformation resulting in an increased popularity and accessibility for the community of Uplands. It now occupies the ground floor of Block B, opposite the central garden area. This new facility combines both the Primary and Secondary libraries which is now referred to as The Learning Hub.

The mission of The Learning Hub is to cater to the research and informational needs of Uplands students and faculty. It serves as a gateway in developing digital and information literacy skills. The Learning Hub also allows students to explore the innovations of our world through our extensive print and digital collections.

The faculty and students benefit from the wide and newly expanded collection, which includes print, electronic and audio-visual media for both academic and personal interest. In line with this mission, we have created and atmosphere that will stimulate, relaxing, safe and a supportive environment with the latest furniture and nooks for the students to enjoy.

Services we offer:

We provide high-quality resources that captivate and engage our readers.
Information Literacy lessons are taught by a qualified and experienced teacher-librarian, covering students from Reception to Year 9. These lessons incorporate ATL (Approaches To Learning) Skills and Common Sense Education Program equipping students with the necessary wisdom to navigate the technology driven world.
Our subscriptions ranges from Britannica Online, JStor, Gale School, Tumblebooks, and Digital Library e-Platform. These invaluable resources encourage and inspire our students to delve deeper into the realms of reading and research, fostering a spirit of intellectual exploration and discovery.

The Learning Hub is equipped with high-speed broadband, enabling students to access information promptly and efficiently.
To further enhance convenience, we provide wireless printing and photocopying services for both students and staff. This allows effortless printing from personal devices and promoting efficiency within The Learning Hub.

In conclusion, The Learning Hub is a shining example of Uplands’ dedication in fostering intellectual growth and academic achievement within its community.

Students Technology Responsible Use Agreement

The purpose of this Students Responsible Use Agreement is to ensure that Uplands students use technology in a respectful and purposeful way that aligns with our school values. A prerequisite for any student to use personal or school-owned technology at Uplands is that they, and their parents or guardians, agree to these terms and conditions. This Students Technology Responsible Use Agreement was developed guided by Common Sense Education Family Media Agreement aligned with our Guiding Statement.
