IB Diploma at Uplands

The IB Diploma Programme is an academically challenging and balanced two-year programme with final examinations that prepare students exceptionally well for success at university and life beyond. The programme is held in high regard by the world’s leading universities.

Through the subject groupings and the Core elements, the Diploma Programme develops students physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically. Strong connections are made across the disciplines, supported by additional requirements in the areas of community service (CAS), recognition of higher-order learning (TOK) and the production of an extensive mini-thesis (EE) in a chosen subject.

Uplands students have achieved great success in comparison to world average scores in each year of the programme, since its inception in 2001.

The global average IBDP grade is 4.85, and the Uplands subject average is 5.53, much higher than the worldwide average.
Achieved the highest possible grades in English Lang and Lit, Chinese French & Spanish B, Economics, Psychology, Geography, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Our students have beaten the world average for numerous subjects, including English A, both Language and Literature and Literature, English B, Chinese B, Spanish B and AB, Economics, Geography, History and Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Design, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics and Theatre, Film, Music, Visual Arts
More than 25% of the cohort achieved a bi-lingual diploma.

IGCSE and GCSE Results at Uplands

We would like to congratulate last year’s Year 11 students for achieving another fantastic set of IGCSE/GCSE results. We have been so proud of the resilience our Year 11 students have shown over a very challenging period. We have now received all of our results from the different exam boards. We finished on 484 exam entries with 43.9% of entries achieving the top grades of A*/A. Our A*-B grades were an outstanding 69.3%, and our A*-C grade percentage was a fantastic 88.9%. These results are inclusive of the Art and Design, Music, and Psychology results (with the 9-1 grading converted to the A*-G scale).

University Acceptances

Congratulations to the Uplands Class of 2023! We are so proud of this enthusiastic and service-oriented cohort! This year, Uplanders have been accepted to over 100 universities in 9 countries around the world. From Cambridge University’s Trinity to Columbia University’s Barnard, from small liberal arts colleges to large research institutions, from Artificial Intelligence to Zoology majors, this cohort will soon be moving on to pursue their dreams. This incredible group has also been recognized for its high achievement and dedication to serving others by amassing over 5.7 million USD in scholarships! Hats off to the Uplands Class of 2023!
