Student’s Welcome

Prefect Team

Both Prefects and Head students are leadership roles within our school community which promote the wellbeing of our students through encapsulating our school value: respect for self, respect for others. This comes with the responsibility of serving as a vessel for students to voice their opinions and concerns, much like an older sibling for others. Prefects and Head Students are expected to exemplify a role model’s behaviour, aiming to inspire others to achieve their fullest potential. These leadership roles help shape our students to demonstrate mindfulness of the world around them.

A common misconception on the roles is that they are completely separate and individual from each other; however, they require you to work closely together alongside teachers, and other members of staff, as everyone is diligently working together to strive for a cohesive community.

Prefects of our spirited community, alongside other leadership positions, are expected to guide students by providing support, while working closely with various school communities such as DSS, Green Club, and the USC. Similarly to Prefects, Head Students are required to, not lead, but guide and provide support for the different teams. You also get to work closely with the Head of Year 12&13, Head of Secondary and Principal, proposing ideas and concepts that will enhance the learning environment at Uplands.
